Global Strategic Sourcing Engineer

Position summary:
The Global Strategic Sourcing Engineer will develop and implement an efficient global sourcing strategy for raw material and external processes sourcing, to improve cost, lead-time, quality and delivery performance.
Main tasks:
- Identify and develop new suppliers for critical raw material on group level and ensure the Supplier qualification are done according to our internal procedure.
- Develop the global supply chain and optimize the utilization of suppliers in EU and Asia between our two manufacturing sites in China and Romania.
- Negotiate and sign contracts with key / critical suppliers and evaluate the performance of each supplier.
- Design and implement a global sourcing strategic for critical material and processes and monitor all sourcing strategies and policies to ensure achievement of all business objectives and goals.
- Work in close corporation with local purchase / material planner team, to support on developing local suppliers for external processes and materials.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, both on the shop floor and in offices – internally/externally
- Excellent in Romanian and English both written and verbally
- 5 years’ experience as sourcing / procurement / category manager for sourcing activities for steel and Cast-iron manufactured products – raw materials (Copper, Brass, Stainless Steel etc.), welding, CNC machining, surface treatments (painting, HDG, electroplating) preferable from Automotive or similar industry
- 5-7 years’ experience with performing sourcing projects and negotiations with suppliers
- Good technical understanding/knowledge in general and knows how to read drawings, practical experience from CNC / Welding industry is an advantage
- Very self-motivated and used to achieve excellent results without direct supervision
- Analytic and constant curios on finding cost savings and running cost down projects.
- Very goal and result oriented with positive attitude towards cooperation with colleagues and suppliers
