Strategic Purchasing Manager
Location: Industrial Park Ghimbav, Brasov (Romania)

Qualifications:
- Strong communication and negotiations skills
- Advanced English level
- Experience (5 years in equivalent position) with documented results
- Good technical understanding/knowledge in general
- Experience in steel manufactured products – raw materials, machining, processing, surface treatments (painting, HDG, electroplating, cast iron)
- High activity level – can manage many projects at the same time
- Very self-motivated and used to achieve excellent results without direct supervision
- Very positive attitude towards cooperation with colleagues and suppliers
- Situational awareness
- Driving license – cat B
- Advanced level of knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP system.
Key responsibilities:
- Set the right team to fulfill the strategy and KPI set by the company
- Develop sourcing strategy – support the localization and optimization of the supply chain for all divisions producing in Romania
- Develop new suppliers based on supplier approval process and in alignment with the sourcing strategy on having multiple suppliers for critical components
- Constantly look for new suppliers and establish a corporation with suppliers to increase performance (price, lead-time and quality)
- Negotiate prices and general terms with all suppliers based on quantity, lead-time, payment terms, and delivery terms
- Prepare KPI as well as periodic reports to management both on supplier performance, localization rate and cost development
- Cooperate with internal function such as material planning, production planning, technical department, Quality as well as engage in global communities to utilize supplier base and the knowledge across manufacturing sites
- Maintain master data regarding supplier’s examples: lead-time, QTY, price, trade agreement
- Continuously check-up on possible in-/outsourcing of products (make or buy)
- Analyze purchase requirements based on customer orders and sales forecasts – in coordination with S&OP department
- Define and record quality and technical requirements for commodities required
- Break down total requirements into component level batches
- Calculate and define efficient purchase order volume and intervals for all batches (use of JIT principle)
- Provide key suppliers with demand forecast
- Provide cost calculation/breakdowns to technical department on new product and engage in the design process to make high quality products with minimum cost.
