Technical Manager

Location: Industrial Park Ghimbav, Brasov (Romania)

Job type: full time (Mon-Fri, 8:00-16:30)

Duration of contract: permanent
Reports to: General Manager

Requirements:
– Strong technical knowledge of steel manufacturing processes
– Strong knowledge of project management, project planning (project planning software i.e. Microsoft Project)
– Knowledge of ISO 9001, PPAP, PFMEA, DFMEA and/or similar design review tools
– Strong insight in cost drivers and cost calculations
– Engineering skills in welded constructions and thermodynamics are a big plus
– Advanced English level
– Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus
– Experience in the the management of technical specialists and engineers
– Strong communication skills, both internally and externally
– Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and follow up on them, in an environment with short and changing deadlines
– Experience from technical life-cycle project management and NPI to ECM (Engineering Change Management)
– Experience with an ERP system (such as MS Dynamics AX/) and Microsoft Office
– FEM and CFD knowledge are not an ultimate requirement but an advantage
– Advanced level of relevant CAD/CAM software.

Responsibilities:
Overall responsible for all activities within the product group technical department including:
– People management
– Project planning & project management
– Product design
– Product documentation
– Production documentation
– Internal department procedures
– Technical claims handling & internal technical support
– Various (KPI reporting, support factory’s maintenance of ISO 9001-2008/ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001/QMS, own projects according to assignment, coordinate design approvals and dispensations with Global Design Manager)
– Manage department and project costs according to budget.
